In order to update your router’s security settings follow these easy steps:
Step1 (Log in to your router)
To log in to your router Run Internet Explorer (or your default browser) and enter fritz.box in the address bar.
Step2 (Login)
After hitting Enter, you will be taken into the user interface as the FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7390 comes without any default login credentials. It is strongly recommended that you do set your own credentials though.
Step3 (Wireless Settings)
Hide SSID Settings
To hide your router’s SSID, go to Advanced Settings > WLAN > Radio Settings. This will display the Wireless Settings where you can configure your wireless network. Enter the name of your network in the SSID box. To hide the SSID (Service Set Identification) untick the “Name of WLAN radio network visible†option. This will hide your wireless network from the clients searching for wireless connections and thereby protect your network from hackers.
To make your wireless network safe, you should select the appropriate security option.
To do, so click go to Advanced Settings > WLAN > Wireless Security.
This router supports 64/128-bit WEP, WPA and WPA2 encryption with WPA2 being the most secure encryption.
It is recommended to use WPA2 security encryption.

On the new page select the following otions:
Enable WPA encryption
Mode         WPA2
WLAN key     Enter your desired authentication key
 To save the setting changes you have made to your router, click Apply.
